DESIGN FOR NEEDLEPOINT CUSHIONS FOR DINING ROOM CHAIRS (IM-1228)
1. There are 12 chairs. 6 are armchairs. 6 are without arms. Armchair cushions are different in shape and size from cushions on chairs without arm.
2. There are six of each of the 2 shapes that will he required. (Note: I have template covers from Knoll, on which I have based my design.)
3. Enclosed Is a full size proposed color montage on heavy cardboard. Also enclosed is a folder showing the 15 colors used. 1 thru 7 are neutrals, 8 thru 15 are bright colors. (These are identified by letters.)
4. Also enclosed is a print showing exact locations of the 15 colors. Note the profiles of two sized cushions drawn in red and green on this print.
5. Should you approve of the pattern and colors I could proceed with having these made as follows:
A. Check with Knoll to be sure of sizes and shapes of cushions and exactly how much additional needlepoint surface will be required to be sure to cover all exposed cushion edges.
B. Determine who could best make these. I already checked several possibilities when I was in New York last December.
C. Having obtained cost estimates on making them, with your approval, would proceed to work with selected maker.
D. Select wool colors to match 15 colors in design. Have at least a quarter of a cushion made in the actual wool colors so we may approve sample for production.

Page 2.
E. After your approval of this sample we could order the 12 cushions.
F. Note: As the overall pattern is sufficiently 'scrambled' I believe all 12 cushions could be exactly the same. This would be probably less expensive than making them all different.
G. Should you wish to order one or two more cushions to have as spares in an emergency, this of course could be done when placing the order.
H. After the needlepoint tops are completed, they would then have to go it Knoll to be made up into their specially shaped cushions.
(The needlepoint tops would act as a fabric.)
In the event you wish to make changes in pattern or colors, let me know and I can make variations in the design as desired.
If you would prefer a completely different design let me know.
The enclosed color montage is the only one existing so would need It back to work with.
Shall now wait to hear from you.
