CopyrightMarin was dedicated to painting the infinite moods of nature as he observed them from his home on the coast of Maine.
In this watercolor he employs a winding, playful line to express the energy of the sea and allows the white of the paper to suggest its frothy waves.
While the Atlantic coast was the inspiration for Marin’s watercolor, its freedom of handling approaches pure abstraction.
