Using a distorting lens made of melted and manipulated plastic affixed to his enlarger, Weegee took his straightforward portrait of Picasso and created an appropriately Cubist photo-caricature. Weegee also manipulated photographs of Picasso’s paintings. "I straightened out his abstractions and brought them back to normal."
