Color Palette- In this rather subdued landscape, gently curving lines roll down the sandy slopes of the dunes on the beach at Le Pouldu. The absence of drypoint or selective wiping makes this print among O’Conor’s most straightforward etchings, perhaps executed at the beginning of his printmaking experiment.
- Random scratches, especially visible at lower right, suggest that O’Conor carried his zinc etching plates—none too carefully—to the sites, where he drew upon them with an etching needle as if they were sketchbooks.
