Patterns and Colors
This comparison is simply visual and conceptual, comparing a non-objective abstract composition with Hasui’s print of a southwesterly view of the Hirakawa Gate of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo at dusk. Both compositions have large blocks of color punctuated by dots and splashes of other pigments.
