The colophons at the top are written on sutra paper and all proclaim the authenticity of this painting. The first, at the right, is by Wen Peng (1498-1573), the elder son of Wen Zhengming, and the last, at the left, is by Wen Yuanfa (1529-1602), the son of Wen Peng.
Wen Peng wrote "This is a snow scene that was painted by my father, and I don't know why it got to the capital. Mr. [Li] Rongchuan obtained it and asked me, so I replied, 'This was done by my father's hand and should be treasured.'"
