Egret flowers are scattered over the surface of this brilliant red dress. The elongated fitted bodice is achieved through a dropped waistline. The cartridge pleats along the top of the skirt not only create fullness, but also serve as a decorative element.
The design of the dress was probably influenced by Christian Dior’s H-line, which was introduced in 1954. Dior’s aim was to push the bust up as high as possible and drop the waist to the hips, which formed the crossbar of the letter H.
