This cocktail dress, from the Aimant (Loving) collection of fall-winter 1957, is a classic Dior design. The high sculptural collar envelopes the wearer, dipping low at the neckline and wrapping around the natural waist.
Dior delighted in using floral prints, particularly rose prints. He was scrupulous about the fabrics he chose and carefully analyzed each swatch to ensure it was suitable for the specific style.
